Filmlab Palestine is a non-profit organization that has been working since 2014 to build an emancipatory film culture in, from, and for Palestine. Through cinema, it amplifies Palestinian voices and stories — challenging distorted narratives and the silencing that dominates mainstream media and politics.
In their documentary A State of Passion (90 min), filmmakers Carol Mansour and Muna Khalidi present a deeply human portrait of British-Palestinian surgeon Dr. Ghassan Abu-Sittah, who spent 43 days in Gaza under bombardment, treating the wounded amidst immense devastation. His unwavering commitment to care and justice becomes a symbol of resilience, compassion, and resistance.
After the screening, we invite you to stay and take part in a moment of reflection and sharing.
You’ll be given time to write down your thoughts, feelings, frustrations, whatever the film stirs within you while having a drink or cup of tea. We’ll then gather for a collective sharing circle, offering space for voices to be heard and for solidarity to be expressed.
