About KABUL à GoGo / Gietijzer
KABUL à GoGo and Gietijzer together form a multi-room event venue in Utrecht.
- KABUL à GoGo focuses on alternative electronic music and cultural programming, with two spaces hosting 100 to 450 visitors.
- Gietijzer manages our large-scale spaces, hosting business events and external dance organizers, with productions ranging from 2,000 to 4,000 guests.

Practical Information
- Role: Freelance Light Technician
- Location: Utrecht
- Contract: Freelance / Self-employed - Internal fee and external commercial fee.
- Start: As soon as possible (or in consultation)
- Workload: Based on programming and seasonality (primarily evenings/nights and weekends)
What You’ll Do
- Design, set up, program, and operate lighting systems for club nights, live performances, and large-scale events.
- Coordinate technically with producers, artists, VJs, and external organizers.
- Ensure safe and correct installation and operation of lighting equipment according to regulations.
- Contribute creative lighting concepts that match electronic music and nightlife culture.
- Troubleshoot technical issues quickly during events and perform well under pressure.
- Dismantle and check equipment after events.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a light technician in clubs, events, or festivals.
- Experience with medium to large-scale productions (1,000+ visitors is a plus).
- Solid knowledge of lighting consoles, fixtures, and DMX-based systems.
- Strong affinity with electronic music and nightlife culture.
- Independent, proactive, and calm under pressure.
- Good command of English and preferably dutch.
- Based in or near Utrecht.
